Nina has completed her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. She also completed her Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of British Columbia and a Paralegal Diploma from Capilano University. She brings a unique and diverse background spanning clinical counselling, frontline healthcare crisis response and legal advocacy, having supported individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and life transitions across a range of settings.
Nina draws from a person-centered foundation and integrates CBT, narrative therapy, trauma-informed, DBT and somatic approaches into her work, amongst other approaches. She has completed a certificate in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Skills. She approaches each session with warmth, curiosity and a nonjudgmental presence, believing that meaningful progress happens when clients feel truly safe and heard.
Nina has a particular interest in working with adults facing life transitions, anxiety, identity exploration, self-esteem challenges, grief and complex emotional experiences, as well as individuals navigating performance-related stress. She is drawn to high-impact work and meets each client with patience, curiosity and a genuine commitment to their growth. Nina has volunteered with organizations focused on intimate partner violence, legal support and community inclusion.
In her free time, Nina enjoys bouldering, kayaking, soccer, films, cooking and music. She is fluent in English and conversational in Croatian and Slovenian.
